The Association of Professional Biology hosted the 40th Annual Professional Biology Conference and AGM at the TRU Conference Centre in Kamloops, BC.  This conference offers a unique opportunity to learn from leaders in various applied biology fields, and build connections across industry, government and conservation organizations.

Thank you to Alison Peatt (Bearfoot Resources Ltd.) and Canadian Wildlife Service avian biologists Chloe Boynton and Celina Willis for providing an excellent workshop on Thursday May 9th: Designing Avoidance and Mitigation for Migratory Birds and Species at Risk Critical Habitat.

Our AGM and conference ended Saturday May 10th with a wonderful field trip to Lac du Bois. Thank you to Frank Ritcey, Mike Dedels, Dave Low, and Emily Elomas for sharing knowledge about local ecosystems at the urban interface. Snake fencing, turtle nests, invasive plants, and burrowing owls - all seen!
