What is BioServe?
BioServe is an APB service that provides information of potential interest to APB members, a diverse group with varied interests and views. APB receives information from various sources and in receiving the messaging does not curate beyond an initial screening of notices for the purpose of eliminating clearly inappropriate messages. As we manage BioServe postings we invite feedback to info@professionalbiology.com
How to I post to the BioServe Distribution List?
Please send your message as an email to info@professionalbiology.com. Please allow at least 2 business days for distribution.
History of BioServe
BioServe has changed from a subscription list server to an email distribution list included in the APB’s Microsoft Office 365 account. If you would like to share information relevant to the APB membership, you can send the request to the APB office to have it sent out to those members who have subscribed. To replace the functionality of the information exchange component, the APB has created a Discord channel that you can subscribe to.
What is Discord and How do I Join?
https://discord.com/@apbbiology’s server on Discord is a free service for text and video chat to allow communities to communicate online. Discord lets you chat via voice, video, or text, and join servers where larger communities gather. Joining Discord is as easy as using the service on your desktop browser or downloading the free app available for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows. From there, you join a server by searching for one, accepting an invite, or creating your own. A server is made up of channels that members use for communication. Servers (and channels within those servers) appear on the left rail; the list of server members appears on the right. At the top (or on the bottom on mobile) you can add and message friends, search servers, and see if you’ve been mentioned in a conversation. A single, free user can join up to 100 servers, while a paid subscriber can join 200. In addition, Discord lets you customize server notifications, and give yourself a different nickname for each joined server. You can also invite friends you added from one server into another, even though friends don’t need to share a server to communicate. To be sent a server invitation*, please send your request to info@professionalbiology.com. *Your invitation link expires in 7 days.
