Teens Talk Biology 2026
TeensTALKBiology 2026 provides an opportunity for teens 13 – 19 to write about the field of applied biology and potentially win up to $350. APB invites children and grandchildren of APB members and other CAB registrants to explore the world of applied biology and showcase what they learned in this summer 2026 contest.
Entrants are required to submit a written submission that describes the field of applied biology and their connection to the field (if any). The submission should also describe what interests you about the field and whether you see applied biology as something you would be interested in exploring as a career.
THE RULES
- Applicants must be sponsored by a family member who is a registered biology professional and provide full contact information for that individual. Applicants 18 – 19 are encouraged to provide their own full contact information.
- The adult sponsor will be the APB point of contact unless the teen is 18 or 19 years.
- If full contact info is not provided the entry will not be considered by the judges.
- Age of the entrant at the time of submission must be declared at the time of submission. There will be two groups for judging and awards: 13 – 15 inclusive and 16 – 19 inclusive.
- A written submission of a maximum of 750 words must be provided in WORD. A photo of an image in jpeg format, aligned with the written submission, is required.
- A photo of the person making the submission along with a signed note from the parent / grandparent / guardian indicating APB may use the photo for reporting and promotional purposes.
- APB will appoint the judges. A decision by the judges is final.
- One submission per entrant is permitted. If more than one entry is received the judges will review the first one received. An additional submission(s) will not be reviewed, and the entrant will be so advised.
- Entries must be emailed to sue@professionalbiology.com. The DEADLINE for entries is 11:59pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
- There will be a first prize of $350 plus an honourable mention with an award of $150 for each of the two groups (13-15 and 16-19).
Do a bit of research. Take your time. Have fun.
